There was a ribbon and flag raising at the UKCSC on Saturday August 8th at the site of the Centennial Center home of the, Upper Kittitas County Senior Center, a police line do not cross ribbon was cut and the American flag that was flying at the time of the fire on August 1st. was raised as the National Anthem played, thanks was given the there were no fatalities or injuries beyond the serious burns that Bill Reagan suffered, our prayers go out for him. Appreciation was also given to the Volunteer Fire responders, Police, and EMS responders.
The re-construction is already underway and the plan is to have a roof on by late November so work can continue through the winter and have the center re-open by spring of 2010, we need all the help we can get to make this happen, for donations of construction labor, and materials call 509-674-7530, or email at ukcsc@hotmail.com, for monetary donations an account has been set up at the Cle Elum Bank of America. PO Box 370, Cle Elum, Wa. 98922. checks should be made out to: "Upper Kittitas County Building Reconstruction Fund".
The meals on Wheels program, and the breakfast and lunch services will be set up by August 10th at the Depot Cafe in South Cle Elum, and we are looking for facilities for the many other community services the center provided to the upper county.
Thank you for your support and prayers.
