My name is Makayla. I am a senior at Chiawana High School, an honor student, and varsity cheer captain. Today I was removed from my first hour class by a security guard for wearing an American Eagle brand sweater because the security guard claimed it to "innapropriate." The sweater had small holes throughout it because it was knitted. However, I was weraring a shirt under the sweater, and you could see nothing but the black shirt underneath. My sweater was nothing innapropriate at all, my grandmother had bought me the sweater forme to wear at family pictures. This was not an acceptable action for the school to do and now they are saying they may not let me cheer because of my sweater and refusing to change. Please share my story so this is will not happen to other students who have done nothing wrong.

That is awful! It is clear that she has appropriate attire underneath the sweater. Really a child that does right gets in trouble, what about the children who cause trouble, get bad grades, etc? What are we teaching our children of the future?!?!

If the Security Gaurd was close enough to read the 'American Eagle' tag on Makayla's sweater, he should have been close enough to tell she was wearing something under it. It appears that the Security Gaurd should be removed from the school.
