The last 2 days have been pretty good for the Tri-City Dust Devils.
The team beat Salem-Keizer 1-0 on Saturday then followed that up with a 10-0 win on Sunday night.
That's the first time Tri-City has won back-to-back shutouts in at least the last 5 years.
And they brought their streak of 18 scoreless innings into their lone day game of the year as they played the Volcanoes once again.
But that streak came to an end real quick as the Dust Devils gave up 2 runs in the 2nd inning.
Tri-City was able to strike back in the 4th when Russell Wilson hit his 2nd home run in as many games.
Unfortunately, that was one of just 3 Dust Devils hits in the game.
And Tri-City's two-game winning streak is over as they fall to Salem-Keizer 6-2.
After the game, manager Freddie Ocasio said this was a tough series for a couple of reasons.
Ocasio says, "You know, day game, we're not used to this, I guess, and came out a little bit flat, made some errors today and, you know, we couldn't get this one. We lost 3 out of the 5 games, you know, we had a chance to win at least 4 out of the 5, we came up with 2 wins and now, you know, we're still in this race, so, we just gotta go to Eugene and take care of business over there now."
Like Freddie just said, the Dust Devils are now heading down to Oregon for a few days.
They'll open up a 5-game series in Eugene on Tuesday night.
The Dust Devils and Emeralds played 5 games against each other at Gesa Stadium last month and Tri-City won 3 of the 5 games.
The series starts Tuesday night at 7:05.
And the Dust Devils won't be back at home until Sunday when they open a series with Yakima.
