Ams Take Care Of Business In Game 4 of the WHL Finals

The Tri-City Americans are playing in the WHL Finals for the first time in team history.

And, unfortunately, this has been a series they would like to forget.

The Ams have lost 3 straight games to Calgary and they've been outscored 15-2 in those games.

So, that meant the Ams had to beat the Hitmen on Wednesday night in game 4 if they wanted to keep the series going.

And with their backs against the wall, the Tri-City Americans were up to the challenge.

They win game 4 by a score of 4-2.

Alexander Pechurskiy was the star of the night.

He made 40 saves, including 22 in the 2nd period alone.

Of course, the other star was the crowd.

And after the game, the Ams said the fans were a huge help.

Ams head coach Jim Hiller says, "I think from a fans perspective, that was probably the most entertaining game of the series, I'm glad people got to see what our building is like when we score some goals, I thought that was obviously the key point in the game, getting the first goal, finally, and just getting the building rocking and getting some good feelings again about ourselves."

Ams forward Brendan Shinnimin adds, "Our fans are great, they're loud, they're energetic, and they get us going, they give us that extra energy, that extra boost that we need from having home-ice advantage."

So, that win means the Hitmen are now up 3 games to 1 in the series.

And it also means that both teams are now heading back up to Calgary.

Both teams have Thursday to travel and rest.

Game 5 will be on Friday night in the Saddledome in Calgary.

The puck drops at 6 PM our time and we'll have full coverage for you on Friday night.
