A Look Back At Tuesday's High School Dunk Contest

We end the basketball portion of the show with a look back at Tuesday night's inaugural All-Star Jam in Richland.

The highlight of the night was the dunk contest.

The best local dunker of the night was Kennewick's Drew Loftus...he had a couple of nice dunks...this was fancy...off the floor...off the backboard...and finish with the reverse.

Then, he followed that up with one that was even a little nicer...gets some help from teammate Reggie Clinton...toss off the backboard and another nice slam...he'd end up in 2nd place.

But no one could keep up with Eastmont's Malachi Roberts...this was my personal favorite...off the back wall of the gym...wow...that is impressive...he just missed a perfect score there...49 points.

And then, he pulled this one out of the bag of tricks...another great dunk...and, a great dance with it as well...that was only worth 48 points.

And he wasn't done...in the finals...he got fancy again...first, he goes with the 360...that's not real easy to do.

But he saved the best for last...Eisenhower's James Lopez helping out...Roberts jumps over him and slams it down...he wins the inaugural dunk contest.

There was also a 3 point contest...Hanford's Sammi Merry won the girls competition and Kamiakin's Riley Hayfield was the boys champion.

And there was also a 2-ball competition...your winners there were Hayley Hodgins from Chiawana and Derek Porter from Southridge.
