Two years ago, the Tri-City Americans won the U.S. Division on the final day of the regular season.
This year, it may go down to the wire again.
At the start of Wednesday night, there were 3 teams all within 2 points of each other at the top of the division.
The Americans are technically in the top spot...and they really needed to break their 3-game losing streak on Wednesday night as they hosted Seattle.
The Ams got 2 goals from Jordan Messier and one each from Justin Feser and Kruise Reddick.
And they get back on track with a big 4-1 win.
Tri-City will be back on the road on Friday when they play in Spokane.
The two teams chasing the Ams in the U.S. Division, Everett and Spokane, both had the night off.
So, with just a couple days left in the regular season, here's a look at the updated division standings.
With the win, the Americans are now 2 points ahead of Everett in the division.
They're also now 4 points ahead of Spokane, although the Ams will play their final 2 games of the year against the Chiefs.
And, make a note, the final division game of the year will be on Sunday between Everett and Spokane.
