The last time the Tri-City Americans had a player taken in the NHL Draft was 2 years ago when both Chet Pickard and Eric Mestery were selected.
Last year, all of the Ams players were completely overlooked by NHL teams.
But, the team may have a couple of draft picks this year.
The NHL's Central Scouting Service has released its mid-season rankings...and 3 Ams are amongst the top 210 skaters.
Brooks Macek is the highest ranked Americans player...he was ranked 101st.
Jordan Messier was next...he was number 146.
And right behind him was Justin Feser, who was ranked 154th.
Those 3 players have combined to score 49 goals and hand out 73 assists this year.
In addition, the Ams also have 7 prospects who made the list.
And we'll see if any of them get drafted during the 2010 NHL Draft on June 25th and 26th.
