CBC Women's Soccer Heads Back To The NWAACC Semifinals

The CBC women's soccer team is becoming very familiar with the NWAACC Tournament.

2 years ago, the Hawks made it to the quarterfinals.

Then last year, they went on an amazing run and won the title.

This year, CBC is making their 3rd straight appearance in the tournament...and they're closing in on back-to-back championships.

The Hawks beat Lane at home in the first round, then travelled up to Bellingham and knocked off Whatcom in a shootout.

That put the team back in the semifinals for the 2nd straight year.

The Hawks have had a balanced attack all season.

Offensively, they've got the top goal scorer in the NWAACC, and defensively, they're giving up just 1 goal a game.

But the Hawks say their biggest advantage may be that they've been to the semifinals before.

CBC head coach Matt Mills says, "I think the experience is going to be key for us because we went through it last year and just, it set us up for success and we've got some things that we do, some rituals, some morning walks or just where we're going to eat, we've got an itinerary already set up so its not freshly new to us."

CBC sophomore defender Sarah Milne adds, "It feels a lot more comfortable now cause we didn't know what to expect last year, so, now we know what to expect and we're gonna go into it confidently, so, hopefully we can get the same result as last year."

CBC is just 1 win away from their 2nd straight appearance in the championship game.

And in order to get there, they'll have to beat the West region champion Tacoma Titans.

This game will be Saturday at 1:30 PM in Tukwila.
