The high school girls soccer postseason continued Tuesday night with the first round of the state tournament.
The last time Kamiakin made it to state was 2006.
That year, they went 2-2 and ended up bringing home the 4th place trophy.
This year, the Braves are back in the state bracket.
And Tuesday night, they opened up their tournament run as they hosted University.
There was no score for a long time in this one.
It was scoreless after regulation and the first OT.
But, in the 2nd overtime, Shannon Gunion finally scored for the Braves.
Kamiakin wins a thriller over University 1-0 in double overtime.
So, the Braves move on to the state quarterfinals.
And that's where they'd meet the winner of this game.
Pasco headed up to Spokane to take on Lewis & Clark.
And Lewis & Clark beats Pasco 3-0.
The Tigers will play Kamiakin in the quarterfinals, while the Bulldogs season ends with a record of 14-6.
Let's drop down to 2A next.
Prosser is back at state for the 3rd straight year...Tuesday afternoon, they played at Cheney.
And Cheney ends up beating Prosser 5-0.
The Mustangs end their season with a record of 13-6.
And, we don't want to forget about our 1A teams.
2 of them have made it to the state tournament.
Connell opened up the tournament at home against Naches Valley.
And the Eagles pick up the 1-0 win.
In the next round they'll play either Ki-Be or Cashmere.
Those two teams also played on Tuesday night...but we didn't hear a score from that game.
