Former Shock Coach Visits With Fever
By Keith Leventhal
The Tri-Cities Fever and Spokane Shock have been huge rivals over the last few years.
Since both teams joined the AF2, the Shock have gone 7-1 against the Fever. Spokane head coach Adam Shackleford led the team to all those wins...but, in a stunning move, just a month after winning the AF2 title, the Shock let him go. Well, you'll never guess where Shackleford has ended up. Thursday, he was in the Tri-Cities, visiting with the Fever and head coach Pat O'Hara. The team says they're talking to Shackleford about a possible job with the Fever. He says its been a long couple of weeks since he was let go by Spokane and that he knows he'll end up on a sideline during the upcoming season. But when asked if Shackleford would end up here, neither side really showed their hand. Former Shock coach Adam Shackleford says, "Could there be an opportunity down the road, possibly, but right now we're just kinda talking about his thoughts on making this organization better than it already is and he's done a great job already." Fever head coach Pat O'Hara says, "The relationship is good, its strong, and we certainly would love to have a home here in our Fever family for Coach Shackleford, he'll always be welcome here and that's kind of where we're at right now." Shackleford says he's not going to rush into any decision about joining the Fever or any other team. But, he did say he'd like to have a decision made by the end of next month. |
