High School Volleyball Recap 10-20-09
By Keith Leventhal
The high school volleyball season is almost over.
Thursday night's matches are the final ones of the regular season. And at the start of Tuesday night, there were still a handful of teams in the running for the district title. Kamiakin started Tuesday evening one game out of the top spot. The Braves were on the road playing one of the teams just behind them, West Valley. This would be a back and forth match all night. And in the end, West Valley has a little more. The Rams pull off the small upset...they beat Kamiakin in 5 games...the score was 15-12 in the 5th. Southridge started the night in a tie for first place. The Suns were at home taking on last place Davis. The Suns had no trouble. They crush Davis 25-8, 25-7, and 25-17. Also on Tuesday night, Richland was upset by Eastmont...so that means the Suns clinch at least a share of the district title. There are also a couple tight races further down the standings. Kennewick is sitting in 7th place...and on Tuesday night, they took on Chiawana. It was all Kennewick out there...they sweep Chiawana 25-16, 25-17, and 25-18. |
