3A Regional Soccer Tournament - Kamiakin vs. Sunnyside

3A Regional Soccer Tournament - Kamiakin vs. Sunnyside

By Keith Leventhal

On Tuesday night, the Pasco boys soccer team punched their ticket to the state tournament as they beat Wenatchee 3-0.

On Wednesday night, a couple more area teams had a chance to clinch a state berth.

Kamiakin finished the regular season as the 3 seed in the CBL.

And Wednesday evening, they took on district champion Sunnyside in a state qualifying game.

Jesus Solis scored late in the first half for the Grizzlies to give them a 1-0 lead.

And that would be it for the offense.

Sunnyside is headed back to state for the 2nd straight year as they beat Kamiakin 1-0.

On the other side of the bracket, Eastmont was at home on Wednesday night taking on Hanford.

This was also a low-scoring game...and the Falcons are also on the wrong side of the scoreboard...they fall to Eastmont 1-0.

So, that means Hanford will play Kamiakin on Saturday...the winner moves on to state, the loser's season is done.

Up in 4A, 2 local teams have already earned a trip to state.

Pasco and Central Valley have both qualified for the state tournament...but they'll play on Friday night in Spokane to determine their seeds.

The final state berth will go to either Wenatchee or Ferris...those two teams will play on Saturday afternoon in Wenatchee.

Martin Vaal Lopez made a plea and went home to his family. He was once accused of killing a Pasco woman. But now, he served less than 2 years, and went home to his own wife and kids. Do you think this is justice?
