KENNEWICK - It's the moment local hockey fans have been waiting for, as the Tri-City Americans are back on the ice for a new season, and the Americans opened the year with a 4-1 win.

Tri-City went down early in the first period after Spokane’s Anthony Bardaro went coast to coast on the power play.

In the second period, Justin Feser found the equalizer on the power play. Later in the period, Tri-City found themselves with a 5 on 3 power play, when Patrick Holland found Michael Plutnar to give the Americans the 2-1 lead.

Tri-City added two more goals in the third period thanks to Conner Rankin and Adam Hughesman.

The Ams are back on ice on Sunday to take on the Portland Winterhawks.
