Hanford's Star Golfer Headed To Oregon St.

Thanks to an abundance of good golf courses and the supposed 300 days of sunshine a year, our area is home to some good high school golfers.

And one of the best in the region has decided where he'll be going.

Hanford's Scott Kim will be playing golf at Oregon State next year.

Kim has had a lot of success in the state tournament during his high school career, finishing 11th as a freshman, 3rd as a sophomore, and this past Spring, he won the 3A state title.

Even with that success, he was still worried this summer about where he would end up.

But, he says going to a Pac-10 school is the perfect next step.

Oregon St. signee Scott Kim says, "That was my dream and so I was working towards it every year, so, that's all you can do in this game is try to get better every day, so, you know, I think I've accomplished that looking back at our records, but, yeah, I'm really excited for next year now."

The Beavers only have 9 golfers on their team but when Kim gets there next year, 2 of them will be Hanford grads.

He'll be joining former Falcon Alex Moore, who will be a junior at Oregon State this year.
