Southridge Has 4 Athletes Sign With D1 Schools
For one week in early November, most high school athletes, with the exception of football players, have a chance to make an early commitment to a college.
That early signing period got started on Wednesday and many of our local stars jumped at the chance to sign on the dotted line.
Over at Southridge, the Suns had a great group of kids sign their letters of intent.
The Suns had 4 signees and they're all going to major D-1 schools.
Bryce Jackson and Ty Jackson will be playing baseball at Washington State...Spencer O'Neil will head to Oregon to play baseball...and Caitlin Klepper will play softball at UNLV.
O'Neil was a highly sought after recruit.
Baseball Northwest has him ranked as the top player in the state in the class of 2011.
And O'Neil says while this was a tough process, he ended up in the right place.
Oregon signee Spencer O'Neil says, "I had OSU and WSU offer me, both phenomenal programs, but oregon, I just felt more at home at Oregon so it was an easy choice. The recruiting process is pretty brutal, but I'm excited to finally sign, so, I'm taken now, so i'm happy."
