High School Volleyball Recap - 10-21-10
Thursday night was the final night of the regular season for our Big Nine volleyball teams.
Both of the district titles have already been decided...Richland won the 4A title, while West Valley took the 3A title.
But, there were still some playoff seeding issues to hammer out.
In 3A, Kamiakin started the night in 2nd place.
But Southridge was just a game back.
And those two teams were playing each other on Thursday night.
This was a very close match.
But the Braves end up beating the Suns 3 games to 1.
So, Kamiakin finishes in 2nd place, while Southridge is 3rd.
The team they both finished behind is West Valley.
The Rams locked up the league title last week.
And Thursday night, they capped off a perfect regular season as they swept Pasco 25-12, 25-5, and 25-14.
In 4A, Richland has already locked up the league title.
They tried to stay unbeaten in league play as they took on Chiawana.
This was a real fight out there.
Richland does survive...just barely.
They beat Chiawana in 5...the score was 15-8 in the 5th.
So, the Bombers end the regular season 12-0 in league play.
We've got one other 4A score to pass along.
Walla Walla struggles as they wrap up their regular season with a loss.
They get swept by Ike 25-22, 25-22, and 27-25.
So, they end up in a tie for 5th with Chiawana.
