Story Published: Mar 9, 2010 at 10:32 PM PST

In each of the last 5 years, an East region team has finished in the top 4 in the women's NWAACC tournament.

This year, there will be 2 East region teams in the top 4...in fact, they'll be in the top 2.

That's because Walla Walla and Yakima Valley got together Tuesday afternoon with the NWAACC title on the line.

It was close all game long.

And your 2010 women's champ is Walla Walla...they beat Yakima Valley 75-72.

It's the Warriors first NWAACC title since 2001.

While that was the biggest NWAACC game of the day, there were a few other trophies on the line.

The CBC women finished in the top 8 in 2 of the last 3 years.

Back in 2007, the Hawks were 7th, and the following year, they won the title.

This year, they're back in the top 8.

Tuesday morning, they took on Spokane in the 5th and 8th place game.

And the Sasquatch hold on to beat the Hawks 65-60.

Spokane ends up in 5th place, while CBC finishes the year in 8th.

The Walla Walla men also played in a trophy game on Tuesday afternoon.

They took on Mt. Hood in the 4th and 7th place game.

And Walla Walla brings home the 4th place trophy as they beat Mt. Hood 71-66.

This is the highest finish for the Warriors since 2004, when they also ended up in 4th place.
