As we near the end of the fall sports season, that means basketball is just around the corner.

Many experts think the University of Washington and Gonzaga should do very well this year.

However, just like the last couple of years, those two regional powers won't be playing each other.

That could be changing soon.

The University of Washington has sent a proposal to Gonzaga to restart their series.

The proposal would be for 3 games between 2011 and 2013...and they would all be played at Key Arena.

Late Wednesday night, the Zags athletic director issued a statement saying the only way they'll agree to a series is if the games are on each school's campus.

The statement also said the two sides will continue to discuss this matter privately.

The Huskies lead the overall series 29-14...but, Gonzaga has won 8 of the last 9 meetings, including a 20 point win the last time they played in December of 2006.
