Huskies Face Must-Win Game

Huskies Face Must-Win Game

By Keith Leventhal

Since Washington State beat Portland State this past weekend, that leaves the University of Washington as the only major college football team in the state without a win.

To be fair, the Huskies have played teams that were ranked 21st, 15th, and 3rd in the country.

But, that doesn't take away from the fact that they are still 0-3.

The last time UW was on the field was 2 weeks ago when they were crushed by Oklahoma 55-14.

Washington had a bye this past Saturday, and the team used that time to get healthy and get some of their younger players up to speed.

However, the Huskies know they have to win this week's game.

And the team says, they're just trying to forget about those first couple of weeks.

Washington head coach Ty Willingham says, "We think that the teams we played were very good football teams, the threesome, and that they'll go on to do good things before this year is over, but, the bye came at a great time for us to get mentally back to where we needed to be, physically get back and hopefully see that there's a bright day ahead of us."

The good news for Washington is that they're actually favored in this week's game.

The Huskies are hosting Stanford on Saturday, a team they beat 27-9 last year.

Saturday's game gets started at 7 PM at Husky Stadium.
