New UW AD Talks About Football Program

By Keith Leventhal

The University of Washington has really struggled during the early part of the year.

And, now that the school has a new Athletic Director, there are lots of new questions being raised.

On Wednesday, the Huskies announced that Scott Woodward would be their new AD.

One of the first major issues he'll be dealing with is what to do with football coach Ty Willingham.

During his 4 years in Seattle, Willingham is 11-28, including this year's 0-3 start.

But Woodward just wants everyone to just relax and says he'll make a decision when the time is right.

Woodward says, "You judge a body of work at the end of the season and that's how we'll do it. As I said in my opening statements, I think we're about to turn a corner, we're in a lot better shape, from my personal opinion, than we were 4 years ago. Does the record show that yet? No. But we have a lot of football to play."

Woodward also said that he goes out to practice every day and sees that the players aren't happy with their 0-3 start.

And he's encouraging fans to support the team through these tough times.
