UW Names New Athletic Director

By Keith Leventhal

There's also some big news coming out of Seattle.

Back in December, University of Washington Athletic Director Todd Turner resigned and Scott Woodward took over as interim AD.

The school said they would conduct an extensive search for a new Athletic Director.

And 9 months later, they found him...and its their interim AD, Scott Woodward.

Woodward was actually asked to remove his name from the search back in May...but UW President Mark Emmert changed his mind, and decided to give him the full-time job.

Woodward's contract is not finalized yet, but its expected to be a 5 year deal.

And he knows he's got some big issues to work on.

New Athletic Director Scott Woodward says, "We have challenges, as President Emmert said, we have facilities challenges, we have challenges in Sound Transit problems, and in our backyard at Husky Stadium, but there are an enormous amount of opportunities."

One of the biggest issues Woodward will face is what to do with football coach Ty Willingham.

And we'll tell you what he's planning on doing on Thursday night.
