CBC Women's Soccer and Volleyball Facing Must-Win Games

The NWAACC soccer tournament got started on Wednesday.

The CBC men and Walla Walla women both won the East region, so they get a bye straight into the quarterfinals.

But the CBC women finished 2nd in the East, so they had to play a 1st round game.

That game was on Wednesday afternoon...it was at home...and it was against Highline.

The Timberwolves scored early in the 2nd half to take a 1-0 lead.

CBC responded with a goal with 12 minutes left in the game to tie things up at 1 and force overtime.

The first OT was scoreless.

But, with 4 minutes to play in the 2nd OT, Jordan Benecke put one in the net.

That was the game-winning goal and CBC survives as they beat Highline 2-1.

With the win, the Hawks move into the quarterfinals.

Next up, they've got a game at Clackamas.

The CBC volleyball team also played a huge match on Wednesday.

They took on Yakima Valley...win and they're in the playoffs, lose and they're done.

And, unfortunately, they lost to the Yaks 3 games to 1.

So CBC's season comes to an end with a record of 22-20.
