KENNEWICK – Adam Hughesman and Brendan Shinnimin spark a 5-3 come from behind win over Prince George on Sunday. Most importantly though, the Tri-City Americans now takes over first place in the WHL Western Conference.

Hughesman scored the first goal of the game, but after that Ams’ goalie Eric Comrie surrendered three straight goals in the first. Ty Rimmer took over in goal late in the first and shutout the Cougars the rest of the way.

Hughesman added a pair of goals in the second period to give him a hat-trick and tie up the game 3-3.

The third period belonged to Brendan Shinnimin who added two more goals, to give Tri-City the 5-3 win.

The Americans sit one point ahead of Portland for first place, and control their own destiny with three games remaining in the regular season.
