Carey Price Ready To Be The Top Goalie In Montreal

One of the best parts about Olie and Stu's Desert Bash is that it brings together a large group of current and former Tri-City Americans players and coaches.

This year, there were 15 people with connections to the Ams at the event.

And one of the biggest names was Carey Price.

Price had a stellar career with the Americans.

And now, he's got one of the best jobs in all of sports...starting goalie for the Montreal Canadiens.

Price got off to a good start this past year.

But eventually, he lost his starting job and saw backup goalie Jaroslav Halak carry the team to the Eastern conference finals.

Halak was traded last month, so that means Price is the starter once again.

And he says the last few months have been wild.

Price says, "Its just a roller coaster and, you know, its, at the end of the day, we had a lot of fun, the team did well and that's what you're looking for."

We asked him, "Now, you're the man, you know, there's no question about it this year. Is that the role you want?"

Price says, "That's what I want, that's what they drafted me for and hopefully I can deliver, I've been doing a lot of work this summer and preparing and I got another couple months to prepare myself and get ready to, get ready to get at it again."

Price also said even though being the goalie of the Montreal Canadiens is one of the biggest jobs in sports, he doesn't feel that much pressure.

He says the biggest challenge is just performing to the high level he sets for himself.
