The Big Nine hasn't produced a lot of Division 1 basketball players over the last few years.
Gavin Gilmore is in his sophomore season at Seattle University, and Walla Walla just had two of their players sign with D-1 teams.
And now have another name to add to that list.
Friday morning, Pasco's star guard Danielle Walter signed with Gonzaga.
Last year, Walter had a stellar season for the Bulldogs, averaging over 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game.
She had been recruited by some good D-1 teams all over the country, including New Mexico and Villanova.
But she says staying close to home ended up being a big factor in her decision.
Walter says, "I didn't think it was at first, I always said it wasn't, but as I got closer to the decision and I visited Villanova, that was really far and so, now I can kind of say, yeah, the distance kind of did make a big impact."
Walter also said playing time with the Zags wasn't a factor in this decision.
And she says, based on her conversations with the Gonzaga coaches, she thinks she'll see some playing time as a freshman.
