The Tri-City Americans are also making some news...and most of it is pretty good.
The Ams had their 9 game winning streak snapped Wednesday night in Chilliwack.
But, the team is still just 2 points behind first place Portland...and now they've gotten some honors, both individually and as a team.
The good news for the team is that they moved up from number 10 to number 5 in this week's CHL poll.
Then, early Thursday morning, the WHL announced their roster for the Subway Super Series...and forward Brendan Shinnimin made the cut.
He becomes the 5th Americans player ever chosen to play in this series, and the first forward to be picked.
Shinninmin will play in the Novermber 25th game against Team Russia in Victoria, BC.
The Americans will be back on the ice Friday night when they try to start a new winning streak in Prince George.
