During the off-season, the Tri-City Americans hired Jim Hiller to be their new head coach.
Hiller had spent the last 3 years in Chilliwack, but was fired by the Bruins at the end of last year.
He knew he'd have to play his former team 4 times this season...and the first time was on Wednesday night.
But, that wasn't even the biggest storyline on Wednesday evening.
That's because the Ams came into this game on a 9-game winning streak, one short of tying their team record.
And, they had never lost a game in Chilliwack.
But, both of those streaks are now over.
The game was tied after 2 periods.
But Chilliwack scored twice in the first 4 minutes of the 3rd...and that was the difference as they beat the Ams 5-2.
Jordan Messier did have a good night for the Americans, scoring both of the team's goals.
Tri-City will now try to start a new winning streak on Friday when they play in Prince George.
