CBC and Walla Walla Soccer and Volleyball Recaps 10-28-09
By Keith Leventhal
You could make the argument that the 2 best women's soccer teams in the NWAACC are Walla Walla and CBC.
They were the two teams that played in the title game last year. And this year, they're a combined 25-2-1. A couple weeks ago, the two teams played in Walla Walla, and the Warriors got the 1-0 win. Wednesday afternoon, it was time for the rematch at CBC. Richland's Kati Lucas scored 3 goals in a 12 minute span late in the first half for Walla Walla. And that was more than enough. Walla Walla hands CBC their 2nd loss of the year...the final score was 3-0. Right after that, the Warriors and Hawks men's teams hit the field. CBC really needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. This was a close game all afternoon. And the Hawks do keep their playoff alive as they beat the Warriors 2-1. All of the CBC and Walla Walla soccer teams will be back in action on Saturday. The CBC and Walla Walla volleyball teams were also in action on Wednesday night...but not against each other. The Hawks were at Treasure Valley. And CBC takes a big step towards a playoff berth as they beat the Chukars in 5 games. Meanwhile, the Warriors were in Spokane. And Walla Walla gets swept 25-5, 25-6, and 25-16. CBC will be playing in the Mt. Hood tournament this weekend, while Walla Walla is off until next Wednesday. |
