In the 2A state basketball tournament, the Prosser girls made it back to the state semifinals for the 2nd straight year.

Last year, they were crushed by River Ridge in the semis.

This year, they had their hands full again as they took on undefeated Archbishop Murphy.

Prosser was down by 6 at the half.

And Archbishop Murphy would pull away after the break...they take care of the Mustangs 50-35.

After the game, Prosser head coach Mark Little said his team will try to shake this loss and bounce back on Saturday.

Coach Little says, "Oh absolutely, absolutely...we'll get ready...we'll get after it. They've been resilient all year. And it's a real disappointment, but I wouldn't trade our team for anybody. I love them, love them to death...great kids."

The loss puts Prosser into the 3rd and 6th place game.

That's where they'll play West Valley of Spokane...and that game will be Saturday at 3:30.

Earlier on Friday, the Othello girls were trying to make it to the trophy round as they played Black Hills.

The Huskies were really in control all game long.

The Wolves did make a late run...but it wasn't enough...and Othello gets the 48-40 win.

The Huskies will now play Pullman in the 5th and 8th place game...that game will be Saturday morning at 8:30.

In the 3A state tournament, the Hanford girls have been playing some great basketball this week.

They put up a good fight against Kennedy, before falling to the number 1 Lancers.

Then, Thursday, they came-from-behind to beat Hazen by 9.

Friday morning, the Falcons took on Franklin, with a trip to the trophy round on the line.

This was also a great game.

The Quakers missed a shot at the buzzer...and that forced overtime.

OT was also close...but in the end, Franklin had just a little more...and they end up beating Hanford 40-38.

Laura Hughes had another good game for the Falcons, finishing with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

But, Hanford's season comes to an end with a record of 20-9.
