4A Baseball District Tournament - Richland vs. Wenatchee

By Keith Leventhal

After 2 days of forfeits and tie-breaker games, the 4A baseball district tournament was ready to begin.

Friday afternoon, Eisenhower and Wenatchee kicked things off...and the Panthers beat the Cadets 9-3.

So, as a reward for that win, Wenatchee got to take about 30 minutes off.

And then they had to get right back on the field to play the top team in the district, Richland.

Richland was up 2-1 in the bottom of the 3rd, until Wenatchee scored the next 5 runs to take a 6-2 lead.

But, in the bottom of the 7th, Richland scored 5, capped off by a walk-off bases loaded single...and the Bombers survive.

They come back to beat Wenatchee 7-6 and advance to Saturday's district championship game.
