Washington gas prices flip flop, helping local drivers

Costco members fill up with discounted gasoline at a Costco gas station in Van Nuys, Calif., Friday, Oct. 5, 2012. Californians woke up to a shock Friday as overnight gasoline prices jumped by as much as 20 cents a gallon in some areas, ending a week of soaring costs that saw some stations close and others charge record prices. TRI-CITIES-- These past few months we've been paying the second-highest price for gas statewide - topped only by Spokane.

But right on time for holiday travel -- prices have completely flipped.

Now we're paying the second least -- again following our neighbors in Spokane.

In just a week's time prices have dropped a full dime a gallon and more than 30-cents in a month.

Analysts expect prices to continue to fall-off into next year -- averaging around 20-cents cheaper compared to what you've been paying.
