Walla Walla lighted parade postponed

Walla Walla lighted parade postponed
DOWNTOWN WALLA WALLA FOUNDATION NEWS RELEASE -- After careful consideration, Macy’s, along with The Downtown Walla Walla Foundation, made the decision to postpone the Macy’s Parade of Lights from Saturday, December 7 to Saturday, December 14.

Safety is the overriding theme for the parade this year and with the Saturday forecast being a high of 11 degrees and low of 3 degrees, safety was once again a deciding factor. “Macy’s Parade of Lights is a tradition,” said Gina Grant Bull, Events and PR Manager for the DWWF. “Over 5,000 spectators attend the parade each year and with the bitter cold that is forecast, Macy’s and DWWF feel that postponing the parade is the right call to make for children, spectators, parade participants and animals.”

The 7:00 pm start time, along with all other details, remains the same for Macy’s Parade of Lights on December 14; the forecast is temperatures in the low to mid 30s.
