Union Gap fruit company settles with EPA

SEATTLE -- Olympic Fruit Company in Union Gap will have to pay almost $34,000 in penalties after failing to meet risk management requirements. Those requirements are listed under the Clean Air Act.

The EPA said Olympic didn't have the right ammonia safety plan at their facility.

On top of the fine the company is required to upgrade its safety equipment.

Ammonia is known as one of the more dangerous chemicals used in refrigeration and agriculture.
