Man defends 'Lee Harvey Oswald where are you when we need u' sign

HERMISTON, Ore. -- Action News spoke to the man who drives a truck with a spray-painted sign that reads, "Lee Harvey Oswald where are you when we need u."
The sign came to our attention from a post on our Facebook page.
The woman who shared it called it "hate speech" and said the truck was parked outside the Hermiston Walmart. It appears to be a business truck for "T Heart Arena" registered quarter horses.
Action News spoke to the man who drives the truck who would only identify himself as "Chuck." He did not want to go on camera or have his voice recorded.
Lee Harvey Oswald is known as the man who shot President John F. Kennedy in 1963.
Oswald was shot by Jack Ruby just a few days later and never stood trial for the assassination.
The sign would seem to imply a call for assassination.
"Chuck" denies this, and says he does not want President Barack Obama to be shot.
He says he would like him "removed" and believes the President "caused" the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.
"Chuck" says the sign was created as a means of protecting our First and Second Amendment rights.

Lee Harvey Oswald didn't assassinate the Speaker of the House, or the House Majority Leader, nor did he assassinate the Senate Minority Leader, matter of fact, he didn't assassinate any of the CEOs who routinely bribe and purchase (aka lobby) OUR elected officials.I don't see HOW Lee Harvey Oswald could possibly help us.
I believe the Secret Service may have a few questions for this guy.
I'd think this should be forwarded to the Secret Service. They may have a different view on this.
Would you rather have folks of this ilk harbor their bigotry and hatred by hiding it? . It's important to understand how extreme some folks are.before we can recognize that it really exists.Â

Even if these types don't act on such commentary.,who knows what some people can do when they get buzzed up! Throw in a little alcohol ,drug use, mental illness, an automatic weapon or two, etc. and you find yourself shaking your head in disbelief.
This guy as well as his friends are dissolution-ed if they think that he meant anything other that what was stated this statement like many other statements about the President of The United States of America were driven by nothing more than race and bigotry.

There was a time when you could take guns to school. We used to do it in the late 70's for show and tell. We would break them down in class and explain in detail how they worked but we left the bullets at home. Also if the local news media would get off the Democrat wagon and tell the truth, the weapons used to kill those 20 kids in Connecticut were four HANDGUNS! A assault weapon was found in the accusers CAR but was NOT used in the killings. It was on the TODAY show (NBC). Google it!
@Ben Dover You are using footage from the reporters shortly after the shooting. The Sheriff's office has posted the weapons including the Bushmaster from inside the school. The ME stated that because this weapon did so much damage, they needed extra time to properly identify the bodies. Look at the date on my link.

Ignore the two comments that use facts to correct your incorrect statement that the Bushmaster wasn't used to kill all those kids and educators. In fact, the ONLY fatality from a hand gun was Adam Lanza's suicide. All the rest were a result of Lanza's use of the Bushmaster.

What did Lee Harvey ever do to me? Well, he assassinated my President. Isn't that enough of a reason to have a problem with him.
How embarassing to have something so ignorant in our part of the country. The gutless 'imply' violence, but then won't give his name or appear on camera. He is NOT a representation of Quarter Horse people and should be boycotted. He is exactly the kind who should have his guns taken away. Talk like a crazy, get your guns taken away. Live like a normal human, and keep your guns. How can these flag wavers spit hate with the bible in one hand and a gun in the other? My direct line has fought in every war since 1776. They went home and raised their famlies and contributed to their communities. Their lives did NOT revolve around guns because they knew the horror of war. This kind of ignorance should not be tolorated! True Patriots use their brains and bravery...not fear and guns. If as much money was spent on educating our children, as is spent on guns, we wouldn't have this insanity. Does anyone really expect to stand before their maker someday and have him compliment them on their guns?
I am reminded of Mullegeta Seraw, a young man from Ethiopia who was beaten to death in the streets of Portland some years ago by several skin heads. They were "inspired" by a similar tone expressed by a guy in California named Metsger who put out lots of NeoNazi propaganda that was racially directed and hateful. Metsger was found guilty of Seraw's death for having incited the skins. "Chuck" is a coward and an idiot, and should be held accountable for any violence his nasty sign ignites.  What a waste of skin.Â
This sign requires the reader to jump to conclusions. It does not indicate anywhere to whom or what this statement is directed. Would I have this sign, NO! Can this person have this sign, YES!

You are so brainwashed and wrong, I have no idea where to begin. You compare the USA to cambodia, Nazi Germany, China, and Uganda. Which ethnic group would you argue that Obama is seeking to exterminate, then? If we're drawing a straight line between us as those communist, fascist countries. The USA has 30x more guns than the next 20 countries COMBINED. Nobody is coming for your guns. Take it down a notch. Next, you want to pin random slaughtering of children on the president saying guns shouldn't be allowed in schools. Guns have never been allowed in schools, but all of a sudden, it's the presidents fault? (we get it, he's black). Remember that time Reagan was shot? He had the best trained marksmen in the world surrounding him, and even THEY couldn't prevent the shooting. Also, there was an assault weapons ban until 2004, under bush. I assume your radical ranting was just as prevalent then? Funny how we didn't turn into Nazi Germany the last time we had an assault weapons ban....
Which brings me to my next point.  Yes, his children need more protection than ours. He's the president, and they're a target. There are crazy people who want to do them harm, and it is well known. This is how it is with every president. Moreover, you cannot put a security guard making $15 an hour in a school and expect the same results as a SECRET SERVICE detail. Arming a principal won't turn them into rambo as soon as shots start firing.Â

One more thing: You are delusional if you think that the only thing keeping the US military in check is you and your AR-15. There is no standing army in the world that can defeat the US military. None. Gun nuts rant about how they need these kinds of weapons to keep the US military from exterminating it's citizens. In actuality, you wouldn't get more than a few rounds off before being turned into pink mist by a drone operator 2000 miles away. So lets call it what it is: You like your toys and don't want them taken away.Â

Wow it seems to me he is implying that the president should be taken out just like Lee Harvey Oswald murdered John F Kennedy in 1963. That was a tragic day in history and to even make light of something like that is unconscionable and presumptuous that he doesn't mean exactly what he stated. He is ignorant and should not be allowed to get away with the hate is putting out there. Shame on him.

Provide proof of your allegations.  If something wrong is being done provide proof.  It's that simple, the problem with conspiracy theories and their supporters is they never provide proof.  On the proof doesn't need to stand up in a court of law, just public opinion.
