Trios staff marches for new Southridge campus
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- More than 100 staffers at Trios Medical Center closed the road near Southridge today.

It was for a historic march. The group rallied at the Kennewick Sports Complex and then walked up Plaza Way. Staff is now officially allowed by the state to occupy the new hospital. Cheers could be heard as the sign holders walked to the beat of a drumline.

Employees say they're excited for the new building to open.

"It's going to be a great facility for the community," said Dr. Adam Smith.

What was it like walking up that road with all those people?

"It was exhilarating. It's fun to be a part of history, I think."

The last time the Tri-Cities community marched for a hospital was in 1950. The new hospital is set to open in early June.
