BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- A former Benton County jail officer is set for trial in July.

Oscar Gonzalez was fired after the sheriff's office said he fooled around with an inmate on work crew. Any kind of relationship between a jailer and an inmate is illegal.

Gonzalez is facing a custodial misconduct charge. He has pleaded not guilty.
