"Titanic" set design highlights new show
RICHLAND-- Calling it "one of the biggest undertakings that this organization has undertaken," Producer Robbie Heegel of Mid-Columbia Musical Theatre (formerly RLOC) brings "Titanic" to the stage at Richland High School all weekend long.

The show features a cast of 80, with 40 more people volunteering behind the scenes.

There's even a 43 foot ship that's been constructed (no word on the size of the iceberg).

From the program: The musical play TITANIC examines the causes, the conditions and the characters involved in this ever-fascinating drama. This is the factual story of that ship-of her officers, crew and passengers, to be sure-but she will not, as has happened so many times before, serve as merely the background against which fictional, melodramatic narratives are recounted. The central character of our TITANIC is the TITANIC herself.

5 Tony Awards: Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Musical Score, Best Orchestration and Best Scenic Design.

All performances are at Richland High School, located at 930 Long Avenue, Richland, Washington.
