Thieves target Kennewick construction sites
KENNEWICK POLICE RELEASE -- Monday, officers investigated three residential burglaries that were currently under construction.

14-01997- Burglary/ 1405 W. 52nd Ave.
Officer Reil contacted Ryan Ballard regarding a burglary from a residence under construction. Ballard reported that sometime between 1/17/14 and today an unknown suspect entered the residence and stole numerous hand tools. No forced entry was located and Ballard reported they are having issues with the garage door not working properly (possible entry point).

14-02064 – Burglary / 1401 W 52nd Ave
Larry Gis reported, sometime after 1900hrs, his home under construction had been burglarized. Gis stated, when he arrived at the home today, he discovered the front door had been stolen, along with a 20 gallon propane tank and several burners. Gis further reported that a construction worker on site had a bucket of tools stolen.

14-02008- Burglary/ 2348 W. 49th Ave.
Officer Rosane contacted Francisco Salas regarding a burglary from a residence under construction. Sometime on Sunday an unknown suspect entered the residence and stole a TV which had just been installed. The suspect also moved the refrigerator into the living room. Salas believes that the residence was locked but no signs for forced entry were observed. Area canvass did not reveal any witnesses. Officer Rosane did locate some tire tracks which are
believed to be the suspect’s. The tracks were digitally photographed.

All three burglaries occurred in the south end of Kennewick in neighborhoods where new construction is occurring.
Anyone who may have seen unusual vehicles or persons in the area over the weekend is encouraged to contact police.
