KENNEWICK - If you keep your stuff at a storage unit, you might want to put an extra lock on the door.

The Action News Crime Tracker learned there's been a series of storage burglaries in Kennewick.

Each case has happened at Kennewick's Classic Mini Storage.

Officers found four burglaries in the center building.

Crooks gained entry by forcing doors open and then punching holes in the sheetrock.

It's important to note that the victims in this case did not use a locking system.

Police did find the stolen items in another unit, but they still have no suspects in the case.

They tell us it's important to know the mindset of a crook before buying a unit.

"They think - I want to be concealed. I want to be dark. I don't want to be noticed. So we look for lighting and the environment around there. Shrubs, trees - anything - even a fence that's solid can hide that kind of stuff," said Kennewick Officer Craig Hanson.

This was the first time in 12 years that Kennewick's Classic Mini Storage has had a break in.
