RICHLAND, Wash. -- Action News is continuing to follow the accident that sent four people to the hospital Saturday afternoon. A semi-truck ran a red light and slammed into a pickup truck, injuring a Richland mom, her two children and her nephew.

WSP says the semi-truck driver, 44-year-old Gustavo Preciado, wasn't paying attention and caused the accident.

State Route 240 at Van Giesen was closed for a few hours as crews cleaned debris off the lanes and investigated.

40-year-old Rene Johnson was driving the pickup truck. She and her two sons were treated at Kadlec and later released. Her 14-year-old nephew Skyler was transported to Sacred Heart in Spokane. His condition has been upgraded to serious.

Preciado was uninjured.

Charges have not yet been filed.
