SAFER STREETS: Fewer drunk driving crashes on local roads
TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- Action News discovered your chances of being hit by a drunk driver are way down.

This year, state troopers have arrested 125 drunk drivers in the Tri-Cities and Yakima areas.

That's nearly double the arrests from a year ago.

Troopers beefed up drunk driving patrols after an increase of crashes.

Since then, the number of DUI wrecks have dropped 60%.

Not surprisingly, more arrests happen late at night.

More than 80% of all cases happen after 10 pm.
