Richland marijuana moratorium extended
City leaders pushed back their opinion while they keep researching. Law enforcement says it is prepared to handle the decision either way.
Richland Police Captain Mike Cobb says, "well I think from a law enforcement perspective we enforce the ordinances and statutes legislature gives us to enforce and so whatever council actually takes a decision on the medical marijuana issue we'll handle it appropriately."
Legalizing marijuana for recreational use is up for a vote in November. The moratorium on pot gardens for medical use won't be decided on until December.
