ZILLAH, Wash. -- It's been a long time coming, but the historic teapot dome gas station is officially a part of Zillah.
The mayor held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday morning.
The city moved the teapot from it's original site near the Yakima Valley Highway.
The teapot will now act as a visitors center.
"I've seen it here when I come through Yakima on the old highway and I've never seen one like that before," said John Arthurs at the ribbon cutting. "I'm glad that tit was moved over here for everybody to see and it's a good place to be."
The visitors center is also equipped with new bathrooms and maps of the area.
