Report: Rapist hid in Dayton backyard
DAYTON -- Local police officials don't get a lot of reports of stranger rape -- but there's a new concern about the Dayton area.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says a stranger tried to force himself on a woman.
She told deputies the man was hiding in her backyard on the south-end of town.
When she stepped out of her home -- he hit her in the head and tried to pull her clothes off.
She managed to fight him off and get back in the house.
