Remains identified as teen who disappeared in 2005
UMATILLA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE -- The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office received information from the State Medical Examiner’s Office. A forensic Odontologist, Dr. Swyter confirmed through dental records that the remains found off Lincton Mountain Road, were that of Byron Fusselman. That State Medical Examiner’s Office has not submitted a final report, but did confirm the
identity through the dental records. Dr. Nici Vance, State Forensic Anthropologist, also confirmed the remains were that of a male 18 to 25 years of age and biological affiliation (Caucasian/European). At this time we are still waiting for the State Medical Examiner pathologist, Dr. Young to conclude his report, said Sheriff Terry Rowan.

At this time we do not have a cause or manner of death, and due to the condition of the remains, may never know with any certainty, said Sheriff Terry Rowan. We will review all of the reports and determine the next course of action to take from there.
