Investigators say 25-year old Juan Manuel Avalos Cazares was heading south on Highway 221 outside of Wheatland when it appears he lost control of his pick-up rounding a curve. Juan's vehicle flew off the roadway and parked itself in the side of a large tree.
Firefighters spent the better part of an hour pulling him from the wreckage.
He was air-lifted to the hospital where he lies in critical condition. The only hard fact at this time is that Juan was driving on a suspended license.
