The disappearance and murder of a disabled Puyallup girl sent her father on a crusade to make sure it doesn't happen to another family.
16-year old Kimmie Daily was found dead a week after she went missing in 20-10.
While technically a high-schooler, she had the mentality of a ten-year old.
Despite her father's pleas, police wouldn't step in until she was missing for 24 hours.
Lawmakers drafted a bill to make missing persons with disabilities a priority.
The hope is to spare others the heartache of losing a loved one -- especially one who needs extra care.
If Kimmie's law passes, it would mandate police put out an alert -- like an amber alert -- within just six-hours of a missing persons report for someone with disabilities.
So far no one has spoken in opposition.
