KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kennewick police arrested a man for breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home early Thursday morning.
Police said the woman called 9-1-1 screaming for help until the phone disconnected. Neighbors also called for help and told dispatchers they could hear glass breaking in their neighborhood.
The 35-year-old woman and her 8-year-old son were screaming when police arrived, according to a news release. Officers spotted the suspect, 32-year-old Felix Garza, at the front door but he quickly ran inside. Officers caught him trying to escape through the back balcony.
Garza was arrested and taken into custody. He is charged with felony order violation, 1st degree residential burglary and resisting arrest.
Police said nobody was hurt.
