WILDHORSE NEWS RELEASE– A local star of the hit CW 9 show "America's Next Top Model" is set to meet fans March 7th.

Wildhorse Resort and Casino is proud to host a viewing party for Americas Next Top Model, Cycle 18 complete with special guest; local contestant and Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation member Mariah Watchman.

Wildhorse is pulling out the red carpet and inviting Watchman’s local fans to come join them. The second episode screening will take place on March 7, 2012. Doors open at 7:30pm with the show airing at 9pm. The event is free to the public and open to all ages. Dress to impress as you walk the red carpet, pose for photographs with 20 year old Watchman who will also host an autograph session and take time after the screening for a question and answer session.

Watchman, a Pendleton native and 2009 graduate of Nixyaawii Charter School is the first Native American contestant to appear on Americas Next Top Model. After beating out thousands of young ladies to make it on the popular TV show, Watchman is excited to be back in her home town to view the second episode with family, friends and fans. “I can’t wait to be home in Pendleton with all the people who have shown me such compassion and support since the very beginning of my journey. Being back on the CTUIR Reservation is a reunion long past due, they are my family and my family is where my heart is,” said Watchman. “My family is the reason I am able to stay strong and focused on achieving my goals and dreams.”

The show, which premiered Wednesday, February 29th on the CW 9, was beyond what Watchman expected. “Way more went into the filming of Americas Next Top Model than I could have possibly dreamed about. Fortunately I was able to learn the ropes from one of the best crews.” The highlight of the shows cast and crew is Americas Next Top Model Producer and Super Model, Tyra Banks. “I was in total bliss being around Tyra Banks, it was almost like a dream,” said Watchman. “For her to even know my name and face is something I am still in disbelief of.”

Though Watchman is under contract and not able to disclose how far she progressed on the show, Watchman did make it past the cut of the first show to advance in the contest. Join her at Wildhorse Resort and Casino on March 7th to support her on through the second episode.
