Pasco ranked among top cities in Washington for homeownership

CITY OF PASCO NEWS RELEASE -- NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy website, recently conducted a study to find the best places for homeownership in Washington – and Pasco made the list.

As renting becomes less affordable, NerdWallet wanted to give potential homebuyers a look at the current housing market. NerdWallet based its rankings on the following criteria

·         Homeownership rate

·         Selected monthly homeowner costs

·         Monthly household income

·         Population growth

NerdWallet ranked Pasco as the 15th best place in Washington for homeownership. The city has a homeownership rate of 62.7 percent, and median monthly homeowner costs are $1,264. Pasco’s population grew by 10.9 percent between 2010 and 2012.

Other Washington cities that made the list include Richland, Burien, and Bonney Lake. Read the full study at: www.nerdwallet.com/blog/2014/best-cities-homeownership-washington/
